Not sure how to goes about! I have just sign up a hosting website. I have my own domain from blog. Am looking a ecommerce setup! After I signed up the hosting web I didn’t know I need to download this and that in order to upload a website! I know nothing about php, ftp…etc.
Was claim by this company that its easy to setup, but now I’m lost.
I download the wordpress commerce and upload in cpanel and some other things which i seen the youtube demo of this. But still I’m totally lost on setting up a online oscommerce. I don’t even know how to view the website I’m creating now.
Anybody can guide me the easiest way to setup in PHP and FTP?
I thought of deleting away all the uploaded file from me previously and restart again!
Hoping somebody can help me out!
I tried to email the company but end up have to recommend me to another company which can setup for me at a cost BUT I wish to take up the Challenge.
To those who heping me, really thanks a billion and love you all!
OK, FTP is a protocol to upload files, so you don’t need to know about this since you can upload through cpanel.
PHP is a server side scripting, so your host needs to be able to process the PHP. I am not sure whether you need to know too much about this.
I do not know about the wordpres commerce but you might be able to go to the site that you got it from and find instructions on how to set it up.
Here is a search that contains some sites about wordpress commerce, you may be able to find out some information from them. Check all the pages and see what you can find.

Apart from that, you may have to pay the other company.

Hi i just bought a vps hosting account [linux, cent 05]. I have some questions … i never had a VPS before and im rather confused. My provider gave me some addreses and passwords such as "https://:8443" what am i supposed to do with that?
also i’ve changed my servers to the new host, am i supposed to do anything else for the dns to propagate it? thanks
Hi Mike,
Have you transferred your Web content over? I recommend getting a managed VPS so the transfer can be taken care of by the provider. The https address you were given will take you a management portal for your VPS.
Feel free to get in touch if you have any question.

I am looking for a shared Microsoft Exchange 2003 hosting service, suitable for hosting about five (5) personal email accounts. It needs to be reliable, with a large quota, and access via Outlook Web Access (OWA).
I have found the 1&1 (1and1.com) hosted Microsoft Exchange service to be quite interesting when considering the features and price, but they don’t have the best ratings and reviews.
oops no answers yet… i was hoping to learn too.
but try cihost.com.. i have been using them. was good, but recently my shared server has been some problems. my history with them is about 8+yrs
What would you say is the best (free) Linux control panel for hosting? I’m mostly considering Webmin for mine.
dude try visting http://www.xekom.com i think that they have a list of hosting companies listed for what you are looking for…good luck…
I don’t think you could find a hosting box offering only Java, although it’s possible. But on a vServer hosting you can add java, php, ruby, python etc.; so they cost the same
I need a dedicated host, not VPS, in Austin or San Antonio. I am willing to spend up to $300/month, but would prefer $150-$200. I need to be allowed full root access to the kernel so that I can install (or have installed for me) my own linux operating system.
Answer away!
I doubt you’d be able to get a webhost to give you root access to their machine at any price. The solution for you is to colocate your own server at an ISP. This way you maintain full control over it and you can have access to your hardware whenever you need to.
You supply the hardware, and they supply the net connection and power.
You can do this in PA for $50/month. Google "colocation" or "colocated server" for more info.
I do this and it works out very well.
And….what is the most I should spend for a web hosting site?

Please help me.
You can not get a dedicated domain name free. They must be paid for. You can get a sub-domain name free. http://www.000webhost.com/159285.html DOES NOT PROVIDE FREE DOMAIN NAMES. They can’t as they don’t own them.

Definitely blogger. (blogger.com)
It helps you with sometimes-difficult tech-y stuff, like putting youtube videos on your page. However, you have to pay to have your own "dot-com". The URL you get is always *something*.blogspot.com if you don’t pay.
