I don’t think you could find a hosting box offering only Java, although it’s possible. But on a vServer hosting you can add java, php, ruby, python etc.; so they cost the same

We are going to transfer a PHP based site from one hosting company to another. It’s currently running on a Linux/Apache server. If we copy all the files over to the new server, will there be any issues. If we name the database the same as on the previous server, do we have to do anything to get the site to recognize the database? Thanks
If the host doesnt support PHP, then you might not be able to get the PHP files to work. Some hosts do not support PHP or any CGI support. I had to learn the hard way with mine. I have used one company for years, and then researching later how to use PHP, and when I tried to implement it in mine, they told me it was not compatible. I use FatCow now because of the PHP and CGI scripting capabilities.
