I’m trying to find out if two people can have the same e-mail address and also if other people in any way could see my files or e-mail if i have a shared hosting account. Is there a privacy issue with having an e-mail account on a shared housting account.
Typically a decent hosting service will provide a number of different email addresses to use (say 5 or 10). So just have separate people register different names.

If you have a web page you are having hosted, then you will get a number of free e-mail addresses for you to use. (this varies)
For example,
yourname@yourcompany.com or
sales@yourcompany.com or
info@mydomain.com
Each one has their own account(s) and they access those account(s) and they set up their own password(s) for those account(s).
When you decide what names you want, you will need to contact your ISP and let them know what those accounts are.
Then you will need to set-up Outlook Express or Thunder bird, your ISP can help you here as well.
